Amal is an artist and curator living in Toronto, born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan. Drawing inspiration from traditional South Asian miniature techniques, Amal renders surreal imagery exploring themes around gender, identity, colonialism and textural, ambiguous forms. Amal has exhibited in the Museum of Puppetry in Lahore, curated and exhibited work at the Aga Khan Museum and various venues in Toronto, and has recently curated a show in New York.
